June 11th, 2011Dinner, Sides, VegetablesMy family declared that this tastes better than the Blooming Onion at Outback – that has a bajillion calories while this…only 70 per serving
If there are any leftovers save them for soups, mixing with potatoes, etc.4 servings
70 calories per serving1 large Vidalia onion
2 T A.1. Steak Sauce
3 T grated parmesan cheese
½ t kosher saltPeel onion and cut partially into 6 wedges – do not cut all the way down , just get close to the bottom. Place on a sheet of foil and loosen the layers so that the sauce and cheese will sink in. Drizzle with the steak sauce and sprinkle with cheese and salt then wrap rightly and grill for 40 minutes. Alternately place foil pouch on a baking sheet and bake at 450 degrees for an hour or until desired tenderness.

August 21st, 2010beef, Dinner, Kid Friendly, SummerI love when you grill beef and it gets that nice extra flavorful outside coating. You can achieve this by adding a sugary coating of some sort – barbecue sauce and A-1 both have corn syrup in them and this does the trick perfectly in this great summer dish.
4 servings
170 calories per serving1 lb. beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
¼ c A-1 steak sauce
¼ c barbecue sauce
1 t Dijon mustardHeat grill. Mix meat with 2 T steak sauce and let stand 10 minutes. Mix the rest of the steak sauce, the barbecue sauce and the mustard. Thread meat on skewers and grill 3 minutes per side, brushing occasionally with the sauce.
